It is a beautiful place and we enjoyed camping there for the short time we did while on the road. However, and I don't think this is the fault of Nevada State Parks, but Google maps brought us in via the 5th Street entrance which is 4 wheel drive only......we are in a Lincoln towncar. What an adventure. Ha! So if you cant handle deep sand, follow the signs from the road, even if Maps says it's faster to go the other way. Also, they do check your receipt against your fee envelope in the morning so don't try to skimp on the payment.
Fun for family and friends. Plentiful beaches and a wonderful place for swimming, picnics, camping and day outings. Peace and One Love...
Absolutely loved it!! We spent 3 nights and had a fantastic time. Water was perfect except for a short storm that rolled in. Can't wait to return :) And make sure you stop and say hello to Slow Dance at the Lahonton Market!
I live 1 mile east of the park but have never been there. I drive by the lake all the time and it looks like a great place for boating and camping. If I had a boat I would probably be there every day.
Cuz it's awesome it's clean the park is. Water and ice good for boating for taking your dog of your horse down to running it nice clean beaches. Besides it's the first thing I noticed when I wake up in the morning and walk out on my back deck is that beautiful Lake
